I took on an individual project to create a website centered around Dubai, showcasing my front-end development skills and my excitement for an upcoming holiday there. My objective was to design a visually appealing and interactive site that would both captivate users and provide a practical, navigable experience. Throughout the project, I utilized HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, crafting a responsive layout that adapts seamlessly to various devices, ensuring users could explore Dubai's attractions, culture, and activities easily.

For this project, I incorporated a variety of JavaScript tools to enhance both functionality and user engagement. Using Bootstrap.min for responsive design, I ensured the site adjusts smoothly across all devices, showcasing Dubai’s highlights with elegance. I integrated jQuery and Owl.carousel.min to create dynamic, scrolling galleries, allowing visitors to visually explore Dubai's landmarks.

I also employed Classie for CSS animation triggers, jquery.countTo for counters displaying fun Dubai facts, and Superfish for a multi-level dropdown menu, adding depth and ease to navigation. This project allowed me to experiment with new layout techniques and advanced styling, showcasing my growth as a front-end developer.

Another project that was in the works was the use of a new navigation system for Joe Browns. Having done research into this I approached my Senior and mentioned I would like to tackle this task and believed I could reach the end goal within a timely manner. This allowed me to use the SDLC to begin constructing what you have seen from the link below. Working alongside my senior when needed to achieve the goal of a better navigation system for the end user!

What was once a simple drop-down menu now showcases images, icons, and goes into depth with the multi-level sub menu allowing users to get to the specific items they want easier and faster.

Starting a new role as a permanent Junior Web Developer at Joe Browns has brought nothing but excitement and ingenuity. From the first day coming to grips on learning a new CMS being Magento 2 and grasping all the knowledge I could possibly take from my Senior Developer.

As part of an SEO task that was set out by managers was to have more inclusive interactive content on the website. Upon searching around our website I suggested a timeline to really showcase what Joe Browns was all about!

What started out as an idea slowly and progressively evolved and started including the wider ecommerce team, to the marketing team and eventually the owner, Simon Brown, to pinpoint how Joe Browns started to where they are up to now!

For this project, a minimal specification was provided, allowing me to design and build a CRUD application that met the core requirements while focusing on ease of use for the end user.

This project, like GeoExplorer, is a full-stack application. The core technologies used were PHP, MySQL, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Development followed the Software Development Life Cycle, starting with planning the technology approach, creating design wireframes, and then implementing the final code.

The GeoExplorer project combines Leaflet Maps with HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap for an interactive frontend, while PHP with Curl powers the backend. Using JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax, it integrates multiple APIs for real-time geocoding, weather, and location data. This work refined my skills in both frontend and backend development and deepened my expertise in managing complex API integrations.

Doozy Vape Co has an already well established website. Recently they had seen a dip in traffic to their website and orders on their new products weren't getting the recognition they felt it deserved.

I was brought it by the company having had some experience with SEO. After analysing the companies website which was created on WordPress I had seen the company they had used to create the website did not include any SEO features on the website. This showed me how well the website was doing after not targeting any audience or specific key words but from word of mouth, social media and their products being as good as they are have been the only reason as to why the website is as successful as it was but it showed me the room for improvement it could easily achieve after SEO tools were put in place.

This allowed me to research on the keywords I could use to place in the meta description, titles, URLs and many other features turning their SEO from being non existent to opening up their website to a larger audience.

Here is my first freelance project that I helped work on being the company Sweven plates. Here this company was fortunately a family member of mine and agreed with me to help and a senior developer create their website.

This website undertook the software development life cycle, which I was taught to use in university. We had to start with paper designs, to Adobe Photoshop designs which then led us to the coding. For this website it was actually built through Shopify. The reason being the owner specifically asked for this due to the ease of managing the website on a daily basis. As the website wasn’t such a main priority but their social media presence was. This gave me and the senior developer the opportunity to help create the social media pages such as Instagram and Facebook to help boost their sales by increasing their SEO.

Overall working on this website was great as it gave me more of an insight to what I will be doing in the future for either a company or another client and I hope to make more websites for other clients soon!

I created a JD Gym application as part of my dissertation and another final year module being Advanced Front-end Web Development. Being a person who uses the gym I felt why not make my own gym application and I decided to style it to JD Gyms branding.

For this website I used Bootstrap 4s grid system to make my web pages mobile responsive as this application was to allow users to use the app at home and in the gym. I also used Bootstraps navigation bar so the navigation bar can easily be broken down into a hamburger menu showing the mobile responsiveness and ease of use on a mobile.

Other programming languages I used have been JavaScript, jQuery and JSON. I have included JS when it came to the search / filtering system of the different gyms across the UK. As this offers users ease of use to find a gym near them. I also used jQuery AJAX to load data externally on the personal trainers section as I felt it would give the user the opportunity to pick who they want to use as a PT. With my JSON I actually used a API to load a map which then took the data from the JSON file to display to the user. This being through a map with markers popped around the different locations of gyms in the UK.

I also created a login system as with the current JD Gym website they didn't incorporate a proper member system as this was done by an external company I decided to create my own. Here I created a CRUD section using PHP and MYSQL. Here a user would login which would trigger a session update to the navigation bar allowing users to access the CRUD part of the app. Here user could go in and create, view, edit and delete workouts they can use in the gym. However, the option is there for users on the website to view workouts which are shown through a jQuery button which triggers the toggle of hide and show for the users.
